Did You Know? Having More Muscle in Your Body Can Help You and Your Kids Stay Healthy and Have More Energy!

Here is how:

  1. Muscles are the dumping site of glucose, which gives us energy. When we have more muscle, any extra glucose that would get stored as fat, gets used as energy instead. This also helps with insulin sensitivity, which is the body’s ability to use insulin effectively to regulate blood sugar levels. Improving insulin sensitivity helps to prevent type 2 diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
  2. Having more muscle than fat in your body helps provide your body with a stronger immune system as having more muscle has an anti-inflammatory effect on your body. The proteins in muscle help your immune’s system response to injury.
  3. Having more muscle improves bone density. Muscles pull on bones during movement, stimulating bone growth and remodeling. When we do resistance training to build our muscles, we are also building stronger bones. According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, physical activity during childhood and adolescence can help maximize bone mass, which is essential for reducing the risk of fractures and osteoporosis later in life.
  4. Strong muscles promote good posture. Having more muscle in the back, core and neck can help maintain a good posture, reducing the risk of back pain and other musculoskeletal problems.
  5. Having more muscle can help your body’s response to stress, including recovery from trauma or illness. Through resistance and flexibility exercises you can relief stress-induced muscle tension as well.

Strong muscles are essential for overall health and wellbeing. Encouraging your children to build strong muscles from an early age can help them maintain a healthy lifestyle in the long run.

With regular exercise, adequate nutrition, and healthy habits, you and your children can reap the many benefits of having strong muscles.

At Move B Happy we educate your family on how to workout daily to achieve a healthy muscle to fat ratio, but most importantly we teach you how to instill the habit of fitness in your children, so they can carry it with them in the future as they grow up to be adults themselves. The family unit is crucial in instilling this habit at a young age.
