Today’s kids seem engrossed in electronics, but their little bodies are secretly craving movement. Science proves this.
It’s up to you, the parent, to help facilitate it.
At Move B Happy we teach you how to do this.
When you see your child developing depression, anxiety or poor mental health and behavioral problems in general, or chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. you have to realize their little bodies are screaming out for a healthy lifestyle of physical activity and healthy diet.
There are 5 ways proven by science that children’s bodies crave physical activity:
1) Brain health is facilitated by movement.
Studies show that regular exercise improves cognitive function in children.
2) Strong bones are formed by weight bearing activities.
A study published in Journal of Bone and Mineral Research found that weight-bearing exercise, such as running and jumping increases bone mass in children.
3) Regular physical activity improves cardiovascular health.
A study published in the Journal of Pediatrics found that children who engaged in regular physical activity had better cardiovascular fitness than others who didn’t.
4) Exercise releases endorphins, dopamine and serotonin, substances which are responsible for happiness and motivation.
A study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health found that regular physical activity is associated with a reduced risk of depression in children and adolescents.
5) Human growth hormone is released when we work out.
A study published in the Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism found that regular movement facilitates growth in children.
Sedentary behaviors don’t give your child any of the benefits listed above.
And if you want them to do better in school, study easier, make better decisions, and behave better, you would do well to invest in more time spent moving their little bodies.
