Encouraging children to engage in physical activity can be a challenge for many parents, as children often resist physical activity.

Kids are more drawn to video games, or sedentary activities nowadays, but regular physical activity is essential for children’s overall health and well-being.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 should engage in at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily.

Only 20% of children in the United States meet the above recommendation.

4. Limit screen time to no more than two hours a day and instead facilitate movement throughout the day by investing in some simple objects such as a swiss ball, a jump rope, equalizer bars, etc. that kids can use throughout the day.

5. Ask your child often how movement make them feel. Once a child realizes that movement makes them feel good, they will want to engage in it more.
